Music

Playing music is my dearest hobby. I was introduced to the violin aged seven and soon discovered the freedom of Celtic music, through which I formed many successful musical partnerships.

Fond highlights have included: 2002 - Winner of National Music for Youth competition for 'Traditional and International', with guitarist Phil O'Farrell. / 2002 - Winner of London Irish Centre's 'Musician of the Year’. / 2005 - Awarded Accenture's 'Outstanding Talent' award by Michael Parkinson, with guitarist Ben Thomas. / 2007 - Played at Portcullis House Jazz Club. / 2007 - Performed at Glastonbury with Ben Thomas.

Since 2008 I have enjoyed playing for the UK's leading Ceilidh band, 'Licence to Ceilidh' and 'WoodenFingers' puppet theatre. In 2012 I formed the Celtic/Classical crossover group, 'Mousa Ferry' with composer, Iain Carnegie and also the versatile duo, 'Secret Minstrels' with theatre director, Jonathan Busby.

My technique, compositions and arrangements are still heavily influenced by the fiddle players, Liz Carroll, Martin Hayes and Stephane Grappelli, as well as guitarists, Pat Metheny, Mike Stern and Tommy Emmanuel.
